Can SAGE Help You?
The Core of SAGE is to Help
When SAGE was still in its infancy and was comprised of one student artist preparing his first performance consisting of an hour-long selection of piano pieces, that student artist met with the representative for the first eldercare residential facility and the two of them discussed whether he would be able to perform music for the residents. As they discussed this possibility, it became very evident that the facility director was very excited about this possible performance but was compelled to ask "What's your fee for this performance, because our budget is limited."
The student artist happily responded with "Oh, there is no fee!" SAGE does not and will not accept performance fees.
Rather, the students involved in SAGE seek an opportunity to connect with the elder members of their community and the privilege of presenting their artistic gifts in a receptive and caring environment. It works in both directions. Peer-reviewed scientific studies over the course of the past several decades continue to bolster findings that treatment integrating music and rhythmic patterns have positive social and neurological effects on certain conditions (such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, autism, and speech difficulties). A number of these conditions disproportionately affect the elderly population, and as such, SAGE has a focus to work with that community.
However, please do know that SAGE would love the opportunity to speak with any organization that works with any group that believes that artistic presentation might provide some sort of benefit for the communities that it serves. SAGE seeks to help.
If you are a representative of an eldercare facility or of another organization that might benefit from SAGE's services, please contact us to begin a dialogue to see if SAGE might be a good fit to help you. Please e-mail us at president@sagestudentgroup.com or click the BLUE button on our homepage.
